Questions

  • How many a cappella groups are there at Princeton?
    • Fifteen.
  • Are all groups competitive?
    • Most, but not all groups hold auditions.
  • What is the audition cycle?
    • Most groups hold auditions in September and February.
  • What can I expect during the audition?
    • Most groups’ auditions include scales, swells, pitch-matching, a solo, and often group singing.
  • Can I join multiple groups?
    • It depends both on the groups and your own schedule. Eight groups known as Acaprez (Footnotes, Katzenjammers, Nassoons, Roaring 20, Tigerlilies, Tigertones, Tigressions, and Wildcats) allow membership in only one Acaprez group at a time. However, students can concurrently sing with an Acaprez group and a non-Acaprez group.
  • Who can I ask if I have further questions?
    • Reach out directly to the group you’re interested in.
